Q&A With Coyote

Two men Timm and Ampo who form Coyote stand side by side with records behind them

Coyote are the DJs / Producers – Timm Sure & Richard Hampson (aka Ampo).

Since their first meeting (after both becoming residents at the historically important club “Venus” in Nottingham), between them they spent the 90s’ with residencies at many of the decades seminal.

Coyote officially came into being in 2004, when Timm and Ampo decided to start making music together. Since taking on the moniker, Coyote have set up ‘Is it Balearic? Recordings and Magic Wand Edits’ and have had a wealth of releases and remixes on a huge array of labels. Thanks to their distinctive sound as both DJs and music makers, Coyote find themselves regularly invited to play music across the UK and further afield, in places like Japan, Ibiza and Scandinavia.

We thought it’d be fun to do a little Q&A with Coyote so here goes:

BEST SCENE EVER

Timm: “Horsemouth’s monologue to camera in Rockers.”

Ampo: “Terrence Malick – ‘A Hidden Life’ all scenes are beautiful, but the final scene…”

ONE OF YOUR MOST LOVED SOUNDTRACKS

Timm: “Rockers.”

Ampo: “Gabriel Yared & Underworld – ‘Breaking and Entering’.

LAST SUPPER

Timm: “Higoi (Japanese restaurant in Nottingham}.”

Ampo: “A good curry.”

GUILTY PLEASURE

Timm: “Growing from seed and crispy lager.”

Ampo: “Old motorbikes.”

WHAT DO YOU LOVE TO COOK?

Ampo: “Simple pasta dishes, roasted tomato & garlic seasoning, nothing else!”

So that concludes our Q&A with Coyote – now let’s get to the music.
